Film Hoist

Earlier this year one of the largest food processing companies in Europe approached Saracen UK Ltd to solve a problem.

During the course of production heavy rolls of film were manually moved through the factories and loaded onto machines.  These were either top sealers, flow wrappers or baggers, in fact any machine that required film.  Health and safety rules were being broken due to the weight being handled and injuries – and claims – soon followed.

Saracen UK Ltd designed and produced an innovative solution to this pressing issue.  As you can clearly see from the images, a bespoke carriage was designed and mounted onto a scissor lift pallet truck.  This unit allows staff to safely transport reels of film from the stores to the point of use.  With minimum effort the film is raised to the required height allowing comfortable transfer onto the machine.  The carriage can be made to suit any reels of film up to one metre in length and weighing up to one thousand kilos.
